TOP SURF SPOTS:

Generally speaking, most people would concede that these are some of the best surf spots.

Now, we aren't surfers and we'd be happy to take input as to other sites

that should be listed- input taken here!

If you don't surf, these are beautiful areas to watch those who do surf or

to just enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We've listed them from the south in Pt. Loma to the north in San Clemente.

• Sunset Cliffs-Point Loma
• Tourmaline-Pacific Beach
• Windansea-La Jolla
• Pipes-Cardiff-by-the-Sea
• Moonlight Beach-Encinintas
• Swami's-Encinitas
• Carlsbad State Beach
• Trestles-San Clemente

Often you will hear the terms: south or west facing beaches. The terms describe the direction of the swell that they receive. The swells can be affected by direction, islands, reefs, and many other geographic formations.

Examples: Windansea and Trestles are south-facing beaches. Pipes, Cardiff and much of Del Mar are all west facing swells. Swami's gets north facing swells.
