San Diego RV Camps
San Diego's 'year-round sunny climate entices locals and tourists to head out to the great outdoors, especially during the summer. Imagine the joy of spending the night outside under the stars without really roughing it.
Recreational vehicle campgrounds offer the opportunity to stay overnight in the great outdoors with the creature comforts of an RV. Families and individuals looking for really great deals on vacations should consider staying at one of San Diego County's recreational vehicle campgrounds.
We have compiled a list of four RV campgrounds in San Diego that are situated on or near bodies of water such as Mission Bay, the Pacific Ocean, Santee Lakes, and San Diego Bay.
Keep in mind, that staying at an RV campground is not your typical camping experience by any means. In fact, many of the campgrounds offer amenities that are often found in resorts. If you don't own an RV, two of the resorts, Campland on the Bay and the Chula Vista RV Resort offer suggestions on where to rent them in San Diego.
For the uninitiated, there are some terms used in the RV industry that may be unfamiliar.
Full Hookups - The ability to connect to all three of the campground's facilities; electric, water and sewer.
Partial Hookups - The ability to connect to some of the campground's facilities.
Primitive - For the most part, the RV must be self-contained because there are no hookups available.
