The restaurants are a little hard to find since they are hidden in museums and at various locations throughout the Zoo. The Prado Restaurant is easy to find in the Park and it is well-known for its food and location.

Locals and employees of the Park know which ones are best for certain occasions. Some are expensive, some are cheap, and some are an experience unto themselves.

If you want to have a nice sit down dining experience, go to:

  • Albert's Restaurant at the San Diego Zoo (located near Gorilla Tropics) is a full-service restaurant bar that features a large window that looks out to a lush tropical garden. Albert's is open year-round for lunch and serves dinner during the summer's "Nighttime Zoo" experience.

  • The Prado Restaurant, located in the House of Hospitality, is a full-service restaurant that offers indoor and outdoor seating and is open daily for lunch and dinner. The Cohn Family operates close to a dozen restaurants in San Diego and the Prado is one of them. They put a lot of effort into ensuring that each restaurant provides a quality dining experience. Long-time locals remember when this restaurant was called the Café del Rey Moro. The Prado continues the fine dining and drinking tradition with a well-thought out menu and a wide variety of alcoholic beverages in a more open space than their predecessor. If given the opportunity, make sure to sit outside on the patio so that you can look out over the Casa del Rey Moro Garden.
If you want to have a good food in a more casual setting, go to:

  • SDMA Sculpture Court Café by Giuseppe located at the San Diego Museum of Art-
