If you prefer hot dogs, hamburgers, and soft-serve ice cream, go to:

    Village Grill
    Village Grill
  • Village Grill (located between the Junior Theatre and Spanish Village) serves the usual fast food fare. You can either eat your lunch or lick your cone at their tables or you can stroll across the street and sit by the giant fig tree. The people that operate the Village Grill also run the snack carts located along the major walkways. The carts offer hotdogs, nachos, soda, water, and hand-dipped chocolate ice cream bars. The food is fast food but it will curb the appetite. Most items are under $5.00. The Village Grill and the snack carts operate daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; to 5:00 p.m. in the summer.

  • The Starlight Bowl has its own concession stand but it is open only during performances. And yes, you can eat during the performances.

  • Sydney's Grill at the San Diego Zoo offers visitors a chance to nibble on hot and cold entrees while viewing the elephants on one side and koalas on the other side.

  • The Safari Kitchen at the San Diego Zoo is located near the Zoo's newest exhibit, Monkey Trails and Forest Tales. It is a great place to sit back and enjoy hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, fish and chips, fried shrimp and hot dogs.
